Turkey, a country spanning both Europe and Asia, serves as a vital bridge between the two continents and is a key partner in China’s Belt and Road Initiative. With its population growing and its economy expanding, energy has emerged as one of the sectors with the greatest investment potential. In this nation of nearly 80 million people, shortages of electricity and infrastructure have become significant bottlenecks to economic development, while the gap between power supply and demand remains substantial and the grid is severely aging. At present, Turkey’s electricity generation falls short of domestic needs, prompting an accelerated push to develop coal-fired, hydropower, solar, wind, geothermal, and nuclear energy sources.
The KAZAN combined-cycle thermal power plant project in Turkey is located northwest of Ankara and comprises a single F‑class gas–steam combined-cycle unit with a capacity of approximately 400 MW. In addition to supplying electricity to the grid, the plant must also meet the steam demand of the owner’s chemical processing facilities and operate at low load during periods of reduced electricity consumption, thereby adopting a steam‑to‑power operating mode. The turbine is a double-pressure extraction condensing air‑cooled unit, with a rated output in the 125 MW range.

Our company’s vacuum deaerator performs vacuum deoxygenation on steam condensate from the air cooler, return condensate from externally supplied steam, and demineralized makeup water. The unit has now been successfully delivered to the site and is undergoing operational commissioning.
